Our son Conor had a great experience transitioning to a more traditional classroom setting, from Montessori, after 3rd grade. The lower elementary approach to math, focusing on understanding concepts rather than just memorizing facts, really set him up for long-term success. He’s continued to excel in math ever since and just completed Advanced Honors Algebra/Geometry in the 8th grade, earning 2 high school credits. The early elementary writing program, which emphasizes creativity over grammar and spelling, helped him develop a real love for writing. The technical skills came in naturally as he continued on elsewhere, into upper elementary. The Montessori approach and multi age classrooms also allowed him to learn the ability to self-direct in the classroom, which kept him engaged and confident as he moved to a more traditional setting. He has become a great advocate for himself, knowing how he learns best. We treasure the time spent from prek- 3rd grade and attribute his success to the strong foundation built during those early years.

Our experience with Ms. Murthy as a Montessori educator has entirely redefined our expectations as parents. Her vast knowledge is rivaled only by her desire to help her students succeed. For us, there was no single person who had a more positive influence on our daughter in Lower Elementary. Each day, she took care to ensure our child was learning at her pace and fully engaged in the curriculum. When there were challenges understanding a concept, Ms Murthy knew how to help overcome them with a multitude of approaches and the kindness and patience necessary to build confidence. The foundational elements she learned with Ms. Murthy have served her well as she continues her school journey.
